Terms of Use for Gumline

By downloading, installing, or using Gumline (“the App”), you agree to these Terms of Use with Mount Si Labs LLC, a Washington limited liability company (“we”, “our”, or “us”). If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

Gumline is a personal dental home-care tracker. It lets you:

Log daily care routines (brushing, flossing, and other tasks you choose)
Record tooth and gum focus areas, including notes on what your dentist or hygienist told you
Keep dental visit notes and use a guided brushing timer
Export your own records to share with your dental care provider

All features run entirely on your device. There are no accounts, subscriptions, or online services.

2. Medical Disclaimer

Please read this section carefully.

Gumline is a personal habit-tracking tool for your own dental home care. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical or dental advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Notes you record about your dentist’s guidance are for your reference only and do not replace professional care.

The App does not evaluate, detect, or interpret any dental or medical condition.
Streaks, adherence figures, and reminders describe your logged behavior; they say nothing about the state of your oral health.
Always consult your dentist, hygienist, or physician about your oral health and before making any care decisions.
Using the App does not create a dentist-patient or any other professional relationship with us.

If you believe you have a dental or medical problem, contact a qualified professional. Never disregard or delay professional advice because of something you recorded or read in the App.

3. Your Data and Your Responsibility

Everything you enter is stored only on your device (see the Privacy Policy). That design gives you full control, and with it some responsibility:

Backups are yours to keep. Use Export (or your device’s iCloud backup) if you want a copy that survives a lost or replaced phone.
Deletion is permanent. “Erase all data” and deleting the App remove your records; we cannot recover them, because we never had them.
Exports you share are your choice. Once you send an export to someone, we have no control over that copy.

4. License

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.

5. Intellectual Property

The App — including its design, code, graphics, icons, and branding — is the property of Mount Si Labs LLC and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works of the App without permission. The records you create in the App are yours.

6. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be error-free or uninterrupted, or that reminders will always fire (iOS controls notification delivery). Section 2’s medical disclaimer applies to everything in the App.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mount Si Labs LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data or any outcome relating to your oral health — arising from your use of the App. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the twelve months preceding the claim.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mount Si Labs LLC from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date above.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Washington State, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles.
