Privacy Policy for Spark & Splash Lab

Spark & Splash Lab (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is an educational physics app designed for children ages 4–5, owned and operated by Mount Si Labs LLC, a Washington limited liability company. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in the app.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 We Collect Nothing

Spark & Splash Lab does not collect, transmit, or store any personal information. There are no accounts, no login, no forms, and no way to enter personal data in the app.

1.2 Local Data

The app stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Progress file (player_progress.json): Mission completion status, earned stickers, and play time — stored in the app’s sandboxed documents directory
• Audio preference: A single boolean setting (audio mute on/off) stored in UserDefaults

This data never leaves your device. We do not have access to it, and we do not operate any servers.

1.3 Text-to-Speech

The app uses Apple’s built-in AVSpeechSynthesizer for voice narration. All speech processing happens on-device. No audio data is sent to any server.

1.4 iCloud Backup

If you back up your device to iCloud, your app data may be included in that backup. This is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy. We do not have direct access to these backups.

1.5 Automatically Collected Data

We do not collect analytics or usage data. The App Store may collect anonymous crash data if you have opted in to share analytics with developers via your iOS system settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

Since we do not collect any information, we do not use it. All processing — physics simulations, circuit solving, mission evaluation, and sticker rewards — happens entirely on your device.

3. Third-Party Services

Spark & Splash Lab contains:

• No third-party SDKs (no analytics, no ads, no tracking)
• No network requests (the app works entirely offline)
• No external links accessible to children (all external access is behind a parent gate)

4. Children’s Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Spark & Splash Lab is specifically designed for children ages 4–5. We take children’s privacy seriously:

• We do not collect any personal information from children
• We do not require or allow account creation
• There are no social features, chat, or user-generated content
• There are no advertisements or in-app purchases
• There are no external links accessible without passing a parent gate
• A parent gate (simple math problem) protects access to settings and the parent dashboard
• Parents can mute audio and reset progress through the parent dashboard
